The Automation Engineer role is a full-time remote position responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions that enhance system reliability, efficiency, and scalability. This role involves developing and configuring control systems, integrating automation with existing infrastructure, and working closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical designs. The engineer will perform root-cause analysis, troubleshoot complex automation issues, and ensure compliance with performance, safety, and security standards. Responsibilities also include creating technical documentation, participating in code and design reviews, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across projects. While working independently, the engineer will maintain clear communication and coordination with global team members and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and optimize automated systems and workflows to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and configure control systems, including PLCs and SCADA, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot complex automation and control system issues.
- Ensure systems comply with relevant performance, safety, and cybersecurity standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and participate in code and design reviews.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Communicate effectively with remote, multicultural teams and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success.

Required Qualifications

- Strong skills in Automation and Robotics for designing, implementing, and optimizing automated workflows and systems.
- Solid expertise in Process Control to configure, monitor, and enhance control systems for stability and performance.
- Sound knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles, including wiring, sensors, actuators, and system integration in automated environments.
- Advanced troubleshooting abilities to diagnose, analyze, and resolve technical issues within automation and control systems.
- Experience working with PLCs, SCADA, or other industrial control software. Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or ladder logic is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics), Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed, remote, and multicultural team environment.
