Automation Test Lead - Playwright | Salesforce Application Testing

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce Testing & Cloud Services:
Conduct thorough end-to-end validation of Salesforce applications, including custom configurations, workflows, Apex triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and integrations. Demonstrate strong expertise in Salesforce Cloud services such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, or Experience Cloud to ensure accurate business logic validation. Validate user permissions, security profiles, and data integrity across multiple sandboxes and production environments.

Playwright Test Automation & Technical Leadership:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable Playwright automation frameworks using TypeScript tailored for Salesforce applications. Implement robust locators, reusable page objects, fixtures, and manage dynamic UI elements including shadow DOM and iframes. Lead the creation and execution of smoke, regression, and end-to-end test suites exclusively with Playwright, ensuring reliable assertions, test isolation, and cross-browser compatibility. Oversee the Node.js/TypeScript automation project, manage dependencies with npm, maintain source code in Git, and integrate tests and reports into CI/CD pipelines.

AI-Assisted QA Engineering:
Leverage AI tools such as Cursor AI and GitHub Copilot to draft test cases, generate automation scripts, and optimize code efficiency. Integrate AI capabilities to reduce manual testing efforts and minimize script maintenance time.

Lifecycle Management & Agile Practices:
Lead the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) including test strategy, effort estimation, planning, execution, defect triage, and release readiness reporting for Salesforce applications. Actively participate in Agile ceremonies like Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, collaborating closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners. Manage test artifacts, author comprehensive test cases, and track defects using Jira. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to automation engineers, conduct code reviews, define framework standards, and coordinate automation delivery across sprints.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Understand test requirements and design test cases aligned with business needs.
- Implement model-based testing to enhance test generation efficiency.
- Ensure peer review of test cases to minimize rework.
- Collaborate with development teams to capture test cases and maintain version control.
- Define testing scope and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Automate testing lifecycle processes using tools like VB macros and GUI automation.
- Develop and automate tests by setting up environments, designing plans, and executing scenarios.
- Ensure defect reports are clear, reproducible, and adhere to project norms.
- Provide timely test status dashboards and feedback on usability and quality risks.
- Maintain professional communication with customers, ensuring timely delivery of reports and updates.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with hands-on expertise in Playwright automation and Salesforce application testing.
- Strong functional knowledge of Salesforce standard and custom objects, Lightning interfaces, business workflows, permissions, integrations, and cloud offerings.
- Proficiency in designing and maintaining Playwright frameworks using TypeScript, including fixtures, locators, assertions, authentication state management, debugging, and reporting.
- Deep understanding of STLC, defect management, and test case design methodologies.
- Experience with Node.js, npm, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Jira for test and defect tracking.
- Familiarity or willingness to use AI-assisted programming tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor AI.
- Proven leadership skills in automation delivery, mentoring, code reviews, and effective communication within Agile teams.
