AWS Solutions Architect

We are seeking two experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineers based in Islamabad to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud architectures in production environments. This role requires hands-on expertise with a wide range of AWS services, cloud security, cost estimation, and migration strategies. Candidates should be comfortable working directly with clients, leading technical discussions, and mentoring junior engineers. A proactive approach to maintaining best practices and staying updated with evolving cloud technologies is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead discovery sessions to gather technical and business requirements from clients.
- Prepare detailed architecture diagrams tailored to client needs and map solutions to AWS services.
- Develop implementation roadmaps and coordinate with operations teams to track progress.
- Create project cost estimates, including total cost of ownership (TCO) and billing projections.
- Design migration and modernization strategies for existing workloads.
- Conduct proofs of concept and technical evaluations to validate solutions.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective AWS architectures.
- Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and technical trade-offs.
- Support technical proposals, effort estimation, and pre-sales discussions.
- Mentor DevOps engineers and review infrastructure designs and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Define security, governance, and operational standards across AWS accounts.
- Recommend appropriate AWS services based on performance, security, and cost considerations.
- Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
- Implement AWS Well-Architected Framework best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date architecture documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security and governance policies.
- Manage AWS Partner Network (APN) activities, including Partner Central administration, opportunity registration, certification tracking, capability development, and coordination with AWS representatives.
- Oversee organizational AWS accounts, billing, access management, governance, and related administrative tasks in collaboration with technical and management teams.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years of cloud infrastructure experience, including at least 1 year designing and owning production AWS architectures.
- Hands-on experience with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ALB, Route 53, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and Auto Scaling.
- Familiarity with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, Service Control Policies, and multi-account governance.
- Understanding of AWS security services including WAF, KMS, Secrets Manager, Security Hub, Inspector, and IAM Identity Center.
- Experience with database architecture involving both relational and NoSQL services.
- Proficiency in estimating AWS costs using the AWS Pricing Calculator.
- Experience in workload migrations or modernization projects.
- Ability to create architecture diagrams using tools like Draw.io, Lucidchart, or Cloudcraft.
- Strong client-facing skills with experience presenting architecture recommendations.
- Hands-on expertise with Terraform; knowledge of AWS CloudFormation or AWS CDK is advantageous.
- Experience designing and deploying containerized workloads using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Amazon ECS or Amazon EKS.
- Active AWS Solutions Architect – Associate certification is mandatory; AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or additional specialty certifications are preferred.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and distributed systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and stakeholder management abilities.

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
