The Laboratory Assistant works under supervision, assisting with routine laboratory tasks to ensure accurate test results and smooth workflow without managing a team. The Laboratory Assistant performs essential laboratory duties to maintain equipment, manage chemicals safely, and ensure precise data collection and documentation. Communication, teamwork, and organizational skills are vital for coordinating with other staff and maintaining a clean and efficient laboratory environment. This role supports ongoing medical and dental research and diagnostic services by upholding strict compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities

Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and safety in all tests.
Handle and prepare chemical reagents following safety protocols to prevent contamination or hazards.
Record and document data meticulously to support laboratory analyses and maintain accurate records.
Assist with sample preparation and processing according to established laboratory procedures.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory area to support efficient workflow.
Participate in routine quality control checks and report any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions.
Follow health and safety regulations rigorously to maintain a safe working environment for all laboratory personnel.
Support senior laboratory staff by preparing materials and providing assistance during experiments and tests.
Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines are met and laboratory operations run smoothly.
Monitor stock levels of laboratory supplies and inform supervisors when reordering is necessary.
