The Azure Big Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive big data solutions on the Azure platform. This role requires working in a hybrid model with two days per week onsite in Hyderabad and reporting to the Senior Manager. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines and architectures that align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric. Manage and optimize data lakes and warehouses on Azure, utilizing services such as Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Lakehouse, and Azure Synapse Analytics. Monitor pipeline performance to ensure reliability and scalability. Work closely with data scientists, architects, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver customized solutions. Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards by applying role-based access control (RBAC) and data encryption within Azure environments. Develop monitoring and alerting systems to enhance system performance and streamline data workflows. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly to minimize downtime. Create clear technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and ongoing maintenance.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, with a Master’s degree preferred. Candidates should have at least 6 years of professional experience in data ingestion using ETL/ELT tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics. A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud services is essential. Proficiency in Azure data services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage is required. Strong SQL skills and familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Scala are necessary. A solid understanding of data modeling, data architecture, data warehousing, and big data technologies is expected. Experience with data governance and security best practices is also important.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with Microsoft Fabric and advanced Azure Synapse capabilities will be advantageous. Knowledge of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) concepts is a plus. Relevant Azure certifications are highly desirable.
