Medical Assistant– Lahore Full Job Description

Overview:

AZZ Medical International is expanding and looking for qualified applicants. This job requires the ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 5pm to 2am. Medical Assistants will work with providers remotely, allowing you to improve healthcare by helping doctors and healthcare providers have more time for their patients, reduce wait times, and improve the quality and accuracy of patient record keeping and summaries.

The Medical Assistant also ensures accurate and timely documentation of the medical chart under the supervision of the medical provider. The Medical Assistant assists the provider by accompanying them during the patient exam, recording detailed information into the electronic health record (EHR). In addition, the Assistant performs other related medical record or clerical duties to increase provider effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity for improved patient flow and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

●        Preparing and assembling medical record documentation/charts for physician(s).

●        Updating patient demographics, history and other pertinent health information in the patient record

●        Preparing and sending all documentation to physicians for review and approval.

●        Monitoring the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures.

●        Regular and reliable attendance at the assigned facility required.

●        Communicating with patients, pharmacies, hospitals and physicians over the phone under physician guidance.

●        Helping maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment.

●        Assist with training and acclimation of new hire medical assistants.

●        Receives and directs telephone calls, messages, and patients/visitors. Receives and relays and/or answers incoming and outgoing telephone, intercom, and electronic messages.

●        Arranges and schedules medical appointments and determines patient eligibility for services. Interview’s patients who request medical examination/treatment to obtain pertinent information.

●        Use of multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.

●        Accurately and efficiently performs all clerical duties as needed, including but not limited to patient registration, billing, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and initiating, maintaining, and filing medical records.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: 

●        Bachelor’s degree preferred.

●        Biology coursework at the undergraduate level or above required; Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology coursework preferred.

●        A minimum of 1 year of work experience in the healthcare field may be considered in lieu of the education requirement.

Technical/Computer Skills: Skilled in operating various medical record software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs; minimum of 45 WPM preferred.

Core Competencies:

●        Basic understanding of medical terminology and general medical knowledge.

●        Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.

●        Excellent listening and note-taking skills.

●        Ability to observe and to draft a narrative account of events accurately and cogently, in grammatically correct English.

●        Ability to spell, proofread, and edit written English.

●        Ability to communicate and interact professionally with English speaking professionals

●        Detail oriented with proven ability to work effectively under conditions requiring accuracy.

●        Excellent organizational and time management skills.

●        Ability to remain calm and to learn new skills and information in a fast paced, at times stressful, environment.

●        Ability to problem solve under pressure

●        Keyboard proficiency (approximately 45 words/minute).

●        Ability to operate a personal computer and related software applications.

●        Ability to work professionally and discreetly in an environment that routinely involves exposure to highly sensitive personal medical information

●        Understanding of and commitment to appropriate protection of confidential patient health information
