Ecert provides mandatory online training to care homes and care groups across the UK, helping care providers maintain compliance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations. With an established customer base, a product that clients renew regularly, and a large market of potential customers, Ecert offers a straightforward and affordable solution for staff training in the care sector.
Key Responsibilities
You will spend the majority of your time engaging with UK care home owners and managers over the phone. Your role involves identifying the decision-makers, understanding their training requirements, presenting the Ecert product, and closing sales. While marketing will supply some inbound leads for you to convert, most of your sales pipeline will be generated through your own outbound calling efforts. The sales process is typically short and transactional, with many deals closing on the first call or after a single demonstration.
Daily tasks include making a high volume of outbound calls to care providers using provided call lists as well as those you develop yourself, supported by email and LinkedIn outreach. Promptly follow up on new marketing inquiries, aiming to close these leads quickly as they supplement your outbound pipeline. You will manage the entire sales cycle independently—from discovery and a brief screen-share demo to quoting, objection handling, and closing the deal. Identifying the right contacts, such as owners, registered managers, and training leads at both single-site homes and multi-site groups, is essential.
Maintaining accurate records in the CRM systems (CloudTalk and HubSpot) is critical, including logging calls, deals, notes, next steps, and weekly sales forecasts. Once a customer signs up, you will hand them over to the onboarding team and return to prospecting. Additionally, you will provide feedback on common objections and successful tactics to help refine the sales approach.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have at least three years of experience in outbound phone sales targeting UK or US businesses, such as roles in UK lead generation companies, BPO sales teams, or B2B telesales environments. A proven track record of closing deals independently—not just setting meetings—is essential.
Excellent spoken English and the confidence to engage in natural, persuasive conversations with UK business owners are required. Strong written communication skills are also necessary for follow-up emails and LinkedIn messaging. You should be comfortable conducting short screen-share demos, handling objections effectively, and confidently asking for the sale.
This role demands resilience and the ability to handle rejection positively, learning from each interaction and continuing to make calls consistently. Discipline in CRM usage is important, and experience with HubSpot and dialler software is advantageous. Prior experience in the care sector is not required, as full training on the product, market, and CQC regulations will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Success in this role is measured by daily calls and conversations with decision-makers, demos booked and conducted, conversion rates from demo to sale, new customers closed, and monthly revenue targets achieved.
