Backend Developer (PHP)

Consecutive Bytes is looking for a skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in server-side programming, database management, API development, and application security. This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and optimizing reliable, scalable, and high-performance web applications. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and other team members to deliver seamless and secure backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize server-side applications and backend systems.
- Build and manage RESTful APIs for frontend and third-party integrations.
- Design, manage, and optimize MySQL databases and queries.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data validation mechanisms.
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code following best practices.
- Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical challenges.
- Collaborate effectively with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain existing applications while implementing new features.
- Adhere to coding standards, security best practices, and version control workflows.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Strong proficiency in PHP with practical experience using Laravel or similar backend frameworks.
- Solid understanding of MySQL, including database relationships and query optimization.
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and third-party API integration.
- Familiarity with MVC architecture, authentication protocols, and application security principles.
- Proficient in Git and other version control systems.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
