Backend Engineer - Java & Spring Boot

We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer with over five years of experience in Java and Spring Boot to join our team. This role involves building a next-generation Supply Chain ERP platform designed with a modular architecture that supports enterprise business operations. The platform emphasizes clear module boundaries, independent business capabilities, and minimal coupling. The ideal candidate will contribute to designing and developing a secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise-grade ERP system from the ground up. The position offers flexibility with remote or hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement a modular-monolith architecture with clear module boundaries, separation of concerns, and well-defined interfaces.
- Develop RESTful APIs for frontend applications and inter-module communication.
- Build enterprise business logic, workflows, transaction management, and data validation.
- Implement authentication, authorization, role-based access control (RBAC), and tenant isolation.
- Design and optimize relational database schemas, queries, indexes, and transactions.
- Work with PostgreSQL or other enterprise-grade relational databases.
- Implement robust error handling, logging, auditing, timeouts, and resilience mechanisms.
- Write unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure code quality.
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, architects, QA engineers, and AI engineers.
- Integrate AI-powered capabilities into business workflows through well-defined APIs and service interfaces.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Contribute to Docker-based development and deployment workflows.

Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in modern Java, including object-oriented programming, collections, generics, exception handling, and concurrency fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience building production-grade applications using Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Security, and transaction management.
- Solid understanding of REST API design, validation, versioning, error handling, and documentation.
- Strong SQL skills and practical experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases.
- Good grasp of software architecture principles such as layered architecture, modular design, SOLID principles, clean code, and design patterns.
- Understanding of security concepts including JWT, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, access control, and secure API development.
- Intermediate experience with Docker and containerized applications.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with ERP systems, supply chain management, procurement, inventory, finance, HR, or other enterprise business applications.
- Practical knowledge of modular monolith architecture, domain-driven design (DDD), and bounded contexts.
- Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS applications.
- Familiarity with Redis, caching strategies, asynchronous processing, and messaging systems.
- Experience with audit trails, idempotency, distributed integrations, and fault-tolerant business workflows.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and production monitoring.
- Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into backend business applications.
