Mechanical Technician / Supervisor / Fitter / Febricator

BBJ Pipes Industries Pvt. Ltd is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician / Supervisor with expertise in mechanical assembly, welding techniques, and quality inspection to join their Production / Maintenance department. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma of Associate Engineering in Mechanical and possesses 5 years of experience working in mechanical maintenance within manufacturing sectors such as pipe production or fabrication. They are responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical machinery and equipment vital to the manufacturing process. This role demands a strong focus on troubleshooting and repairing mechanical faults, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring that machines operate reliably and safely. This position involves inspecting various mechanical components such as gearboxes, pumps, motors, bearings, rollers, conveyors, and valves. The technician supports installation and commissioning of new equipment while maintaining lubrication schedules and managing spare parts inventory. Although this role does not include managing a team, it requires effective collaboration with production and electrical teams to resolve issues promptly and minimize downtime. Compliance with safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work environment following 5S standards is essential. The candidate will report directly to the Production Manager or Maintenance Manager and contribute actively to continuous improvement of machinery reliability and production efficiency.
Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and maintain mechanical machinery and equipment used in pipe manufacturing to ensure optimal performance.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on production machinery to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults in a timely manner, including issues with gearboxes, pumps, motors, bearings, and conveyors.
Inspect mechanical components such as valves, rollers, and transmission systems to detect wear and potential failures.
Assist with installation, commissioning, alignment, and adjustment of new machinery and equipment to meet production requirements.
Carry out welding, fabrication, fitting, and basic machining tasks as necessary to support maintenance and production activities.
Maintain proper lubrication schedules and replace mechanical parts promptly to ensure smooth operation of all equipment.
Document breakdowns, maintenance activities, and spare parts usage accurately, maintaining detailed machine history records.
Coordinate closely with production and electrical teams to quickly resolve machine breakdowns and minimize impact on manufacturing schedules.
Manage tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory to guarantee availability and readiness for maintenance tasks.
Adhere strictly to preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring all maintenance work is completed within set timeframes.
Follow company safety protocols rigorously, including proper use of personal protective equipment to prevent accidents.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization in maintenance and production areas, applying 5S principles consistently.
Perform any additional mechanical or maintenance duties as assigned by management to support smooth plant operations.

BBJ has the capability to produce pipes fully conforming to international standard e. g. BSS, API & ASTM. BBJ is approved company in Pakistan having license of API 5L & 5CT (USA), ISO 9001 � 2000. BBJ Pipes are subjected to hydrostatic pressure test to check the weld strength. To maintain strict quality control, samples of the product are also regularly checked for tensile, flattening and bend tests according to prescribed standards. To ensure that quality pipes are being produced, we use on line Eddy Current and seam annealing to normalize weld seam according to APL 5L, to avoid tempered marten site in the weld seam and in heat affected zone. BBJ concentrates its attention on each stage of the manufacturing, galvanizing, finishing process, quality control and inspection to maintain standard of its product.
