ASD Pshycologist

Beacon School System is seeking a dedicated ASD Psychologist with a minimum of four years of experience working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The ideal candidate has expertise in behavioral assessment, applied behavior analysis, and diagnostic evaluation to design and implement individualized treatment plans that support the academic and social development of children with ASD. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and educators, delivering tailored interventions to enhance social skills and communication abilities. The ASD Psychologist operates independently without managing a team, focusing on direct therapeutic interventions and assessments. The position includes the responsibility to use various resources and tools such as flash cards to facilitate learning and communication. The candidate must have good spoken English and the ability to apply verbal behavior analysis techniques as part of their therapeutic approach. This role is crucial for fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that meets the diverse needs of children with ASD within the Beacon School System.
Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on applied behavior analysis principles tailored to each child's needs.
Deliver social skills training and communication strategies to improve interpersonal interactions and verbal behaviors.
Apply behavior intervention planning to address challenging behaviors and promote positive developmental outcomes.
Utilize resources such as flash cards and other educational materials to support therapy sessions and learning.
Continuously monitor and document progress to adjust treatment plans and strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to create a consistent and supportive therapeutic environment.
Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with school policies and ethical guidelines.
Provide guidance and support to children in developing functional communication and adaptive skills.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in ASD treatment methodologies and best practices.
