Bid Manager

As an experienced bid professional specializing in the energy or transmission sector, you will lead the end-to-end tender process for high-voltage substation projects that enhance Pakistan’s national grid. Your role involves coordinating engineering, procurement, finance, and legal teams to develop winning, technically sound proposals. By translating complex customer requirements into competitive and low-risk offers, you will support utilities and partners in delivering reliable power. Your efforts directly contribute to Siemens Energy’s mission to provide energy that is more reliable, affordable, and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire bid lifecycle for substation projects, including tender analysis, bid/no-bid decisions, and timely submission of compliant technical and commercial proposals.
- Analyze client tender documents, technical specifications, and contractual requirements to define a winning bid strategy and clear value proposition, collaborating closely with Sales and Customer Relations teams.
- Consolidate inputs from engineering, procurement, and project management to develop robust cost estimates and pricing models that balance competitiveness with healthy margins.
- Conduct detailed technical, commercial, and legal risk assessments, implement mitigation measures aligned with Siemens Energy guidelines, and manage internal approvals with regional and global management.
- Ensure all bids comply with local tax regulations, import/export controls, and corporate governance standards, safeguarding the company and its customers throughout the bidding process.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and partners to secure competitive offers and clarify technical interfaces; participate in client negotiations to secure favorable commercial and technical terms.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Engineering with a strong technical foundation in grid technologies and substation systems, including AIS/GIS, protection and control, and transformers.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in bid, proposal, or tender management within the substation, power transmission, or broader energy sector.
- Proven track record managing complex, large-scale infrastructure tenders in Pakistan or the Middle East, preferably for utilities, EPC contractors, or OEMs.
- Strong commercial acumen, including expertise in cost estimation, pricing strategy, and analysis of contractual terms and conditions.
- Solid understanding of risk assessment and mitigation, along with regulatory and compliance requirements specific to Pakistan’s energy sector.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of guiding cross-functional teams under tight deadlines and negotiating confidently with clients and partners.
