Big Data Architect

We are looking for a seasoned Big Data expert to lead the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of our enterprise Big Data platform. In this role, you will collaborate closely with data engineers and Big Data business analysts across multiple layers of the platform. Your focus will be on fostering a culture of collaborative problem-solving, delivering sophisticated architectural designs, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate the roadmap and continuous enhancements of the enterprise Big Data platform.
- Manage and guide Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and BI engineers to architect and deliver solutions that meet the organization’s business information needs.
- Ensure that all design, code, and procedural elements meet operational, security, and compliance standards for production readiness.
- Actively participate in daily project and production delivery meetings, providing technical support to expedite issue resolution.
- Commit to continuous learning and take an active role in mentoring and training future Big Data developers and architects.
- Design and implement scalable, near real-time data ingestion pipelines to support low-latency data processing and analytics.
- Architect and optimize data streaming solutions capable of handling high-throughput distributed systems, ensuring data consistency, reliability, and fault tolerance in near real-time workflows.

Required Qualifications:
- 10 to 14 years of experience in enterprise data architecture, integration, and analytics, with a strong track record in designing and implementing Big Data and analytics solutions.
- Proven experience in architecting streaming data pipelines.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams of Data Engineers and BI Developers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Strong technical expertise in Big Data technologies and cloud solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark Streaming and Apache Kafka is essential.
- Proficiency in data lake architecture, including data model design and implementation across relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with enterprise application and data integration techniques such as ETL, messaging, replication, and APIs.
- Domain experience in telecommunications is required.
- Azure Solutions Architect certification is mandatory.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Apache NiFi, Azure Synapse, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of data management best practices, including data quality, metadata management, and data lineage.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information:
- Awareness of machine learning techniques is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to the UK up to 25% of the time.
