EDGE is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support US-based clients by maintaining accurate financial records and managing daily bookkeeping operations. This full-time role requires working within any US timezone (CST, EST, PST, MST) and is open only to candidates residing in Islamabad. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience handling accounts payable and receivable, and proficiency with relevant software tools. As a key contributor to North American businesses, the Bookkeeper will ensure timely month-end closings, precise reconciliations, and well-organized financial documentation, while collaborating effectively with internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and current financial records, including daily bookkeeping entries. Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure ledger accuracy.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles by preparing and maintaining invoices, bills, and payment records. Monitor outstanding balances and assist with payroll-related bookkeeping and expense tracking as needed.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, assisting with preparation of information for tax filings and audits. Prepare basic financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure organized documentation of financial transactions while maintaining confidentiality. Perform additional accounting or administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and document management.
- Proficiency with Epic, Applied Epic, and Microsoft Teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally in a remote work environment.
