Bronchoscopy Assistant

This role involves supporting bronchoscopic procedures by preparing, setting up, and maintaining bronchoscope cameras and related instruments. The successful candidate will assist healthcare professionals during both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout. Responsibilities also include handling biopsy and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) specimens with accuracy and care, as well as adhering strictly to infection control and aseptic protocols.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, set up, and maintain bronchoscopes and camera equipment to ensure optimal functioning during procedures.
- Assist medical staff during diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic procedures.
- Prepare, position, and monitor patients before and during procedures to support their safety and comfort.
- Collect, label, handle, and dispatch biopsy and BAL specimens accurately, maintaining proper chain of custody.
- Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and safely store bronchoscopy instruments following established protocols.
- Ensure the availability of all necessary instruments, consumables, and emergency equipment prior to procedures.
- Maintain detailed procedure records and promptly report any equipment faults or shortages.
- Consistently follow infection control, safety, and aseptic practices to minimize risk of contamination or infection.

Required Qualifications

- Intermediate education level is mandatory.
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy is required, demonstrating specialized knowledge relevant to the role.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Rawalpindi. The role demands a high level of attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols to support effective bronchoscopic procedures.
