Qualcomm is seeking experienced engineers with a strong background in Core Board Support Package (BSP) and low-level systems software development, particularly in non-HLOS environments. The ideal candidates will have hands-on expertise in Linux Kernel and device driver development, BSP bring-up, and platform integration. This role demands proficiency in subsystems such as USB, PCIe, PMIC, and power management, along with experience in bootloader and firmware integration. Candidates should be skilled in hardware-software debugging, root cause analysis, and both host-side and target-side debugging. Additionally, the ability to analyze system performance and ensure stability is crucial.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Linux Kernel and device drivers with a focus on Qualcomm platforms.
- Lead BSP bring-up activities and integrate various hardware components at the platform level.
- Work extensively on USB, PCIe, PMIC, and power management subsystems to resolve complex issues.
- Integrate bootloaders and firmware to ensure seamless hardware-software interaction.
- Perform detailed hardware-software debugging and root cause analysis to identify and fix system-level problems.
- Utilize both host-side and target-side debugging tools to conduct comprehensive troubleshooting.
- Analyze system performance metrics and stability to optimize platform reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address Qualcomm’s current pain points, including USB driver challenges, PMIC development, and PCIe subsystem ownership.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a focused team comprising one lead and four junior engineers with strong Qualcomm BSP expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in Linux Kernel and device driver development, specifically within BSP and platform integration contexts.
- Strong knowledge of USB, PCIe, PMIC, and power management subsystems.
- Expertise in bootloader and firmware integration.
- Demonstrated ability in hardware-software debugging and root cause analysis at the kernel level.
- Experience with both host-side and target-side debugging tools and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of system performance and stability analysis.
- Experience working on complex hardware-software interaction scenarios.
- Familiarity with Linux Audio subsystems such as ALSA, TinyALSA, and PCM is required.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in leading a team or mentoring junior engineers in BSP and low-level software development.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging excellence in embedded systems.
- Ability to take technical ownership of subsystems like PCIe and PMIC.
- Exposure to Qualcomm platforms and development environments is highly desirable.
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies within a global leader in semiconductor and telecommunications.
