Point of IT is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join our team in Lahore, working onsite during the 8 PM to 5 AM PKT shift to align with Pacific Time hours. This role involves direct interaction with customers and internal teams to understand business needs, analyze application processes, and translate these into clear functional and technical requirements for development teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, a solid understanding of software development life cycles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, developers, QA, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze business and technical requirements from customers and stakeholders through workshops and requirement-gathering sessions.
- Prepare detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flow diagrams.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable functional requirements for development teams.
- Analyze existing applications, workflows, integrations, and business processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with developers, QA, project managers, and customers throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and impacts related to proposed changes.
- Support Agile activities including backlog refinement and sprint planning.
- Provide clarification and functional guidance to development and QA teams.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), testing, and validation of delivered functionality.
- Perform data analysis and execute basic SQL queries for validation and troubleshooting purposes.
- Understand APIs, integrations, data flows, and web-based applications to ensure seamless functionality.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or a similar role.
- Proven expertise in requirements gathering and functional analysis.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience preparing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process documentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of SQL, APIs, integrations, and web applications.
- Experience collaborating with development and QA teams.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence is preferred.
- Prior experience working directly with customers is advantageous.
- Familiarity with CRM, ERP, eCommerce, or other business applications is a plus.
