Our client, Millsdale, is seeking a talented Business Intelligence Analyst to join their analytics team in Islamabad. This role is centered on transforming complex data into actionable business insights using advanced data visualization and business intelligence tools. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of hands-on experience with SQL and Power BI, demonstrating the ability to develop detailed reports, dashboards, and data models that support strategic decision-making.

While experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or familiarity with DevOps and observability practices is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement. In this role, the Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data reporting solutions that improve decision-making processes across the organization. The analyst will collaborate closely with multiple departments to understand their data requirements and deliver customized insights through effective dashboards and visual reports. Expertise in SQL querying, ETL processes, Power Query transformations, and DAX calculations is essential to ensure streamlined data access and enhanced accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and optimize interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to clearly present business insights.
- Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis supporting various business functions.
- Design and implement efficient data models ensuring data integrity for reporting and analytics purposes.
- Execute ETL processes to integrate data from multiple sources, maintaining data quality and consistency.
- Utilize Power Query and DAX to perform data transformations and complex calculations within Power BI.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
- Communicate complex technical information and analysis results in an accessible manner.
- Investigate ambiguous problems, challenge assumptions, and provide clear justifications for recommendations.
- Support continuous improvement of BI tools and data processes to enhance reporting capabilities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to data models, ETL workflows, and BI procedures.
- Stay informed about emerging BI trends and technologies, evaluating their relevance to Millsdale’s needs.
