Business Intelligence Consultant

Onstak Inc. is seeking a seasoned Power BI Developer with over 5 to 6 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, data visualization, reporting, and business intelligence. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable BI solutions that convert complex data sets into actionable business insights. This position requires a strong technical background combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver high-quality reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations that meet business needs.
- Create efficient data models, define relationships, and develop calculated columns and measures using DAX.
- Build and optimize data extraction and transformation processes leveraging Power Query.
- Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation solutions working with relational databases.
- Integrate data from multiple sources ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Develop KPI dashboards and analytical reports aligned with business requirements.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective BI and reporting solutions.
- Optimize Power BI reports, datasets, and data models for enhanced performance and scalability.
- Implement security models, including Row-Level Security (RLS), to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and technical teams to understand and fulfill reporting needs.
- Troubleshoot data, reporting, and performance-related issues promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for Power BI solutions and data models.

Required Qualifications:
- 5 to 6+ years of practical experience with Power BI development.
- Proficient in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service environments.
- Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query, and data modeling techniques.
- Solid SQL skills with experience in writing complex queries and working with relational databases.
- Proven ability to develop complex dashboards, reports, and KPI visualizations.
- Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration best practices.
- Experience handling large and complex datasets efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Ability to work independently in a remote and collaborative setting.
- Experience with Azure Data Services, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Databricks.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Familiarity with Power BI deployment, workspace management, gateways, and administration.
- Experience integrating Power BI with cloud and enterprise data platforms.
