This role involves managing a 24-hour operational dark store with an on-site presence of 6-8 hours daily, complemented by virtual coordination with the team outside of these hours. The individual will oversee all warehouse operations, ensuring smooth inbound management, stock handling, storage, and timely order dispatch. The position demands a proactive approach to meeting service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), while continuously seeking opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end warehouse processes, including inbound logistics, stock handling, storage, and order dispatch to meet agreed timelines.
- Drive warehouse operations in alignment with established SLAs and KPIs, ensuring consistent performance.
- Recommend and implement operational goals, objectives, and process improvements to optimize efficiency.
- Oversee Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) compliance by conducting regular safety and health risk assessments.
- Allocate resources effectively through scheduling to maximize operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the commercial department to manage inventory, focusing on fast and slow-moving items, spoilage, wastage, shrinkage, and the handling of returns, refunds, damaged, and expired goods.
- Conduct periodic stock takes, ensuring accurate recording and maintaining stock variation within acceptable limits.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and work standards throughout warehouse operations.
- Coordinate regular maintenance of facilities and escalate issues to the Realty Facility Manager as needed.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and uphold workplace safety standards.
- Guarantee timely and accurate dispatch of orders, maintaining 100% order accuracy.
- Monitor stock expiry dates and prevent delivery of damaged or expired products to customers.
- Foster positive relationships with external stakeholders, including neighbors, suppliers, and delivery riders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university.
- Strong understanding of operations and foundational principles such as supply chain management, customer service, Just-In-Time (JIT), and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of relevant local industry legislation and compliance requirements.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, including coordination with vendor delivery teams, residential and commercial neighbors, and the wider community.
- Familiarity with performance and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), demand forecasting, and stock replenishment tools.
- Expertise in manpower planning and scheduling, accounting for off days, leaves, absences, and fluctuating demand.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and external partners.
