SSI is seeking a research-oriented Data Analyst with 1 to 2 years of experience to support data research, validation, and data room management activities. This role is focused on independent research and working confidently with structured data and spreadsheets, requiring strong judgment and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a business or finance background and be comfortable navigating online resources and internal documents to ensure data accuracy and consistency. This position is not related to software testing or quality assurance but centers on data validation and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough online research, primarily using Google and internal source documents, to identify and verify the official websites or URLs of companies referenced in client materials.
- Compare extracted company names against existing records to decide whether an entity already exists, should be added as a new company, or discarded as irrelevant or duplicate data.
- Validate and correct company information such as domain names, official company names, and other identifying details as needed.
- Access online data rooms to download new or updated files in a timely manner.
- Apply consistent judgment and decision-making criteria when dealing with incomplete, ambiguous, or conflicting information.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit-readiness throughout all research and data validation processes.
- Communicate clearly with team members regarding data queries, unusual cases, and potential process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field; candidates with a BBA or MBA background are preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of professional experience in data analysis, data cleansing, data validation, or research-focused roles.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to make consistent, well-reasoned judgments based on structured data.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and familiarity with general research tools such as Google Search, LinkedIn, and company databases.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle a steady volume of research tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or exposure to fintech, investment firms, or financial data environments, including market research, KYC/AML processes, or equity/company research.
- Basic familiarity with data handling tools such as Power BI, SQL, or Python is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience working with US-based or international clients is advantageous.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and independent research skills are highly valued. Candidates who thrive in structured data environments and enjoy problem-solving will find this position rewarding.
