Butcher - Garden. FB Area and Scheme 33 Branch

We are seeking a skilled butcher to join our Meat/Fresh Food Department within a retail supermarket setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and handling various meat products to meet customer needs while ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and quality. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, debone, and prepare meat according to customer specifications.
- Accurately weigh, price, package, and label meat products.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the meat counter, cutting tools, and equipment at all times.
- Store meat at appropriate temperatures to preserve freshness and quality.
- Adhere strictly to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Assist customers with meat selection and cutting preferences, providing excellent service.
- Monitor meat stock levels, report shortages promptly, and take measures to minimize wastage.
- Inspect meat quality regularly and report any spoiled or damaged products to the supervisor.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum education level: Matriculation preferred.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in meat cutting is preferred; however, fresh candidates with basic knowledge will also be considered.
- Proven skills in meat cutting, trimming, weighing, and handling techniques.
- Strong knowledge of meat quality standards, hygiene practices, food safety regulations, and proper storage procedures.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle cutting tools.
- Mandatory experience in cutting chicken is required.
- Personal attributes including honesty, diligence, punctuality, attention to detail, and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to follow hygiene protocols and safely operate meat-cutting equipment.
