Duties and responsibilities of a freight manager

  • The manager is in charge of the freight that is to be delivered
  • They have to make sure that all the goods are loaded onto the cargo plane
  • All the goods that come in have to be unloaded and accounted for by the manager
  • They have to handle all the workers that do all the heavy lifting
  • They have to arrange the shifts of the workers and coordinate with them
  • They have to coordinate with the other personnel with which they can keep track of all the goods
  • The managers have to ensure that the delivery is done in time
  • If there is any delay, the managers have to call and inform the concerned personnel about the delay
  • The delay shipment of the goods has to be made up and the manager is responsible that the workers make up for the lost time
  • The managers have to keep records of all the goods that are shipped and make reports
