We are looking for a dedicated Sessional Fitness Coach to join the Arsenal in the Community team on a casual basis. In this role, you will deliver inclusive and accessible physical fitness sessions and health interventions, with a special focus on women’s community groups. You will engage participants of varying ages, backgrounds, and abilities, creating positive experiences that encourage health and wellbeing. Your duties will include planning and leading sessions such as the women’s Shape Up programme, Strength & Balance classes, and the Older Adults programme. As a representative of the club, you will maintain high professional standards and build meaningful relationships with all participants.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver inclusive fitness sessions by confidently planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate activities and wellbeing interventions tailored to the needs of individuals and groups.
- Foster welcoming environments by building professional and supportive relationships with participants from diverse backgrounds, abilities, ages, and fitness levels.
- Prepare safe and effective environments by handling, setting up, and using fitness equipment, ensuring safety checks before each session, and maintaining proper use and upkeep of facilities.
- Represent the club positively and respectfully, upholding high professional standards when interacting with participants, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate session records, including registers, consent forms, incident and accident reports, and documentation of participant outcomes.
- Engage in ongoing professional development by attending training days and expanding coaching knowledge.
- Adhere strictly to safeguarding, health and safety, emergency, and venue procedures to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Maintain a position of trust by upholding high standards of conduct to prevent abuse, including sexual, physical, or emotional harm, and stay current with Club and FA Safeguarding training and education.

Required Qualifications

- Recognised Level 3 Fitness Instructor qualification, enabling you to plan and deliver safe and effective fitness sessions.
- Competent knowledge of fitness and nutrition to support participants’ health and wellbeing.
- Experience in inclusive coaching, with the ability to adapt exercises for different needs and medical conditions, supporting individuals of all ages and abilities.
- Confident communication skills to clearly explain activities, build trusting relationships, and engage positively with individuals and groups.
- Experience working in community settings with a strong community-focused approach and eagerness to develop further in this area.
- Clear understanding and commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and emergency procedures.
- Passion for continuous professional development and ownership of learning to enhance coaching practice.
