The ECE Specialist – Curriculum Development will be responsible for designing, developing, reviewing, and contextualizing age-appropriate, inclusive, and culturally relevant early childhood education curricula in alignment with Pakistan’s national standards (e.g., Single National Curriculum, National ECE Policy Frameworks). The specialist will support pedagogical innovation and ensure learning materials foster holistic development in children aged 3–8 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and review of ECE curriculum frameworks, teaching guides, and learning materials in Urdu and/or regional languages.
  • Align curriculum content with National ECE Policy, Single National Curriculum (SNC), and global best practices. National Curriculum (SNC) with the National Curriculum of Pakistan (NCP) 2022–23.
  • Develop tools and resources for play-based, child-centred learning environments.
  • Conduct needs assessments and stakeholder consultations (teachers, parents, government bodies) to inform curriculum design.
  • Collaborate with education experts, illustrators, publishers, and policymakers to produce high-quality ECE content.
  • Pilot and evaluate ECE curricula in selected schools and ECE centres, incorporating feedback.
  • Train teachers and master trainers on the new curriculum and instructional methodologies.
  • Monitor and report on curriculum implementation, providing technical support for adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure inclusion, gender-sensitivity, and responsiveness to children with special needs.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in early childhood education/ ECE Certification, Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in ECE curriculum design and teacher training, preferably in the Pakistani context.
  • Familiarity with Pakistan’s education system, policy frameworks, and curriculum reforms.
  • Knowledge of child development theories, inclusive education, and play-based pedagogies.
  • Experience in developing resources in both English and Urdu (regional languages a plus).
  • Strong facilitation, training, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of curriculum design tools/software is a plus.
