The Women’s Mobility Project is seeking a Field Researcher to support an academic research project hoping to investigate the socioeconomic impact of provision of high quality transport services in urban and peri-urban Lahore, including services restricted for only women’s use. It uses a randomized controlled trial (RCT) methodology, and shall test for the differential impact of women’s only restrictions on female mobility, labor force participation, and other indicators.

One component of the project involves conducting a survey of around 10,000 firms across Lahore to assess labour market demand for female workers. For this, we require well-educated individuals who can set up and conduct in-depth surveys with organizations in the sampling frame. The Principal Investigators of the project are Dr. Erica Field (Duke University) and Dr. Kate Vyborny (Duke University).

This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in first-hand field research, and is particularly suited for anyone interested in continuing to further study or research in economics, public policy or urban planning. This is also an opportunity for the selected candidate to benefit from regular and intensive interaction with the lead researchers, as well as other people working at the CERP office in Lahore. Candidates might be expected to work remotely.
