Certified Nursing Assistant

This position involves providing essential patient care under the guidance and supervision of senior nursing staff within various clinical settings. The role requires timely reporting for assigned shifts, accurate monitoring and documentation of patient vital signs, and assisting with routine nursing procedures. The candidate will support patient admission, transfer, discharge, and transportation processes while maintaining effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Adherence to institutional policies, safety standards, infection control practices, and patient confidentiality is paramount. Key Responsibilities

- Provide basic and supportive patient care under supervision, including monitoring vital signs and patient observations.
- Report promptly any changes or deterioration in patient condition to the responsible nurse.
- Assist nursing staff with routine procedures and administer medications as authorized within the defined scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions in the Health Management Information System (HMIS).
- Support patient admission, transfer, discharge, and transportation activities as required.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare medication requisitions and coordinate with the pharmacy to ensure timely dispensing.
- Evaluate patient needs for supplies, medications, labs, and nutrition, and arrange accordingly.
- Ensure availability and proper use of patient-care supplies and equipment.
- Comply with organizational policies, clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient-care environment, following infection prevention and control practices.
- Uphold patient safety, dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and rights at all times.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, compassion, and respect in all patient interactions.
- Participate in training, competency assessments, quality improvement, and accreditation activities.
- Perform area-specific duties based on clinical assignment:

Critical Care: Assist with basic care for critically ill patients, monitor vital signs, support equipment readiness, and report abnormalities immediately.

Emergency Medicine: Assist with rapid patient preparation, monitoring, emergency procedures, and ensure availability of emergency supplies.

Inpatient: Support patients with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, assist with routine care, accompany physicians during rounds, and manage shift handovers with thorough documentation.

Labor & Delivery Room: Provide supportive care to women during labor and postpartum, monitor maternal vital signs, assist with delivery procedures, and newborn care within competency.

Operating & Recovery Rooms: Prepare patients and operating rooms, assist with transfers and positioning, support post-operative care, and ensure compliance with pre- and post-operative orders.

Outpatient: Assist with patient registration, preparation, basic assessments, medication administration, and support clinical workflow and infection control.

- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors, consistent with knowledge and skills.

Required Qualifications

- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent credential.
- Competency in basic nursing care, vital signs monitoring, medication administration within scope.
- Ability to document patient care accurately using electronic health systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to infection control, patient safety, and ethical standards.
