Job Purpose

Merchandising is a subset of Marketing and The role of Merchandiser is the bridge between the Company’s internal departments and the buyer/customer from initial to final PD/production stages. The purpose of this role is to initiate product development and execute orders; record them in the system according to the specifications of the product, processes, costs and timelines. This role also requires monitoring of all PD/production stages against planned timelines.

Principal Job Responsibilities

Execution of Orders

  • Apart from acting as a mediator between customer and internal departments, merchandiser also has the responsibility to advise/assist other departments and ensure all customer/product requirements are fulfilled.
  • Upon receiving the order/sampling requirements, Merchandiser is required to update the system and follow-up with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated.
  • Continuously follow-up with concerned internal departments and prepare an update for Marketing Executive with current status of all running orders/samples and highlight deviations (if any) from the plan.
  • Have packaging material developed/sourced and coordinate with purchase department to ensure timely approvals and planned timelines are met.
  • Prepare and dispatch all kinds of samples required by customers for approval/reference/record

Communication:

External:

  • Communicate directly with customers and update them on production/sampling status and/or sample approvals.
  • Manage healthy relations with the customers and be available all the time for any professional matters.
  • Communicate with packaging supplier (if needed) in consultation with purchase department for approvals

Internal:

  • Communicate with the internal departments for order and PD related information.
  • Follow-up with internal departments for order/PD status
