- Develop, improve and control of foundry specific manufacturing processes with an aim to minimize scrap and rework.
- Plan and lead routine process walks and root cause investigations to identify and quickly resolve production issues.
- Develop man-machine systems to efficiently collect and analyze process data.
- Work closely with casting design engineers to develop new parts and revisions.
- Apply lean techniques to minimize non-value-adding process steps and overall work content.
- Identify and implement safety improvements throughout the factory.
- Identify training opportunities and generate tools to educate foundry staff on advanced processing and sand casting fundamentals.
- Provide expert feedback regarding part quality, process risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Design operational metrics to appraise the performance of various foundry departments
- Collaborate with customers to develop products with improved safety, reliability and casting quality.
