Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP), under the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on a fixed-term contract of three years, non-extendable. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to steer the organization towards achieving its mission of providing efficient and sustainable water and sanitation services to the region. The CEO will be responsible for strategic planning, operational management, and ensuring that WSSP meets its service delivery and development goals in alignment with government policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to WSSP, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and government regulations.
- Oversee the overall management and administration of WSSP’s operations, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Lead the development and implementation of policies and programs aimed at improving water and sanitation services in Peshawar.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements related to water and sanitation services.
- Foster strong relationships with government bodies, stakeholders, donors, and the community to support organizational objectives.
- Drive performance management by setting targets, monitoring progress, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Promote innovation and adoption of best practices in water and sanitation service delivery.
- Represent WSSP in various forums, negotiations, and public engagements to enhance the organization’s profile.
- Manage human resources effectively, including recruitment, training, and development of staff to build a competent workforce.
- Ensure financial sustainability through prudent financial management and exploring funding opportunities.

Required Qualifications

- A Master’s degree in Engineering, Public Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Extensive experience in senior management roles, preferably within the water and sanitation sector or public utilities.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of government policies, regulatory frameworks, and development sector dynamics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and community representatives.
- Demonstrated financial acumen and experience in budget management.
- Commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical management practices.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Candidates with additional qualifications such as professional certifications in project management, public sector management, or water resource management will be given preference. Experience working in government or donor-funded projects is also advantageous.
