This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned finance professional who prioritizes problem-solving over purely technical accounting or compliance tasks and can build credibility with both local and international teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Strategy: Collaborate closely with the CEO on pricing strategies, business case development, and growth initiatives, providing financial insights that influence the company’s direction.
- Tax & Compliance: Manage income tax and sales tax compliance and planning, coordinating with external advisors as necessary to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Financial Reporting & Governance: Take ownership of the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, ensuring timely and precise reporting to regional headquarters.
- Treasury & Capital Management: Develop and execute strategies for managing surplus capital, including overseeing existing mutual fund investments, with a focus on balancing return, liquidity, and risk.
- Cash Flow & Project Finance: Maintain robust operational cash flow management and forecasting, including cash management at the project level to ensure financial stability.
- Leadership & Stakeholders: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to enhance overall departmental performance and alignment with business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is preferred; however, exceptional candidates without this credential may be considered.
- 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in finance, with a proven track record at the level of Finance Director, Deputy CFO, or an equivalent senior role.
- Strong command of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and financial reporting processes.
- Hands-on experience in treasury functions and cash management, including the effective deployment of surplus funds.
- Solid working knowledge of income tax and sales tax regulations and compliance.
- Demonstrated involvement in commercial strategy where finance has played a key role in influencing business decisions.
- A practical, solutions-oriented mindset combined with a collaborative approach suitable for a small, close-knit team environment.
This role offers the chance to be a pivotal part of a dynamic international real estate advisory firm, contributing significantly to its financial strategy and operational success in Pakistan. The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and strategic vision, thriving in a leadership position that demands both financial acumen and commercial insight.
