Cinematic Video Editor

Faisal Town Group is seeking a skilled Cinematic Video Editor to join their team at the Faisal Town Group Head Office in Rawalpindi. This full-time, on-site role demands a professional with a strong command of visual storytelling, cinematic pacing, and premium content production. The successful candidate will transform raw footage into compelling narratives that evoke emotion, build anticipation, and effectively communicate the brand’s message. This position involves hands-on editing as well as supervising a small team of editors to maintain quality, consistency, and timely delivery. Collaboration with the Content Production Lead and Director of Photography (DOP) is essential throughout the entire production process, from planning to final post-production, shaping the story and visual execution across various projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Edit high-quality cinematic videos for brand films, project launches, digital campaigns, corporate films, social media, and other marketing communications.
- Craft strong narratives by understanding the story, emotion, target audience, and communication goals behind each project.
- Develop story flow, structure, pacing, and emotional progression to ensure every film has a clear beginning, build-up, and conclusion.
- Collaborate closely with the Content Production Lead and DOP during pre-production to plan shots, sequences, and visual treatments aligned with the intended story.
- Contribute creative ideas on visual storytelling through shot selection, transitions, music, sound design, and editing style.
- Manage and supervise a team of 2–3 video editors by assigning tasks, reviewing edits, and ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Take ownership of major and high-priority edits while mentoring other editors on storytelling, pacing, and creative execution.
- Maintain consistency in editing style, visual storytelling, and production quality across all projects and campaigns.
- Integrate motion graphics, typography, compositing, and VFX as required.
- Utilize AI-powered VFX and generative video tools to enhance storytelling and production value.
- Work with the production team to identify additional shots or sequences needed to strengthen the final story.
- Handle footage from professional cinema and mirrorless cameras, organizing post-production workflows efficiently.
- Apply strong sound design, music selection, visual rhythm, and color treatment to create emotionally engaging content.
- Ensure effective file management, project organization, version control, and archiving of production assets.
- Stay updated on new storytelling techniques, cinematic references, AI tools, VFX workflows, and editing trends.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of professional video editing experience, preferably in cinematic, advertising, real estate, hospitality, lifestyle, or premium brand content.
- A strong portfolio showcasing cinematic storytelling, narrative editing, and high-quality visual execution.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Good working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, motion graphics, compositing, and VFX.
- Practical understanding of AI-assisted video production, AI VFX, and generative video workflows.
- Deep understanding of storytelling, narrative structure, emotional pacing, and audience engagement.
- Ability to develop coherent and compelling visual stories from raw footage, briefs, or basic concepts.
- Strong grasp of cinematography principles including shot composition, camera movement, frame rates, and post-production approaches.
- Good knowledge of color grading, sound design, music selection, and cinematic pacing.
- Experience supervising or mentoring video editors is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines without compromising creative quality.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to translate creative direction into polished final content.
