This full-time Client Accountant role offers a hybrid working arrangement, blending in-office and remote work, and involves managing day-to-day accounting tasks for nonprofit clients, ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes for multiple clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly balance sheets, cash reconciliations, and track daily cash activities such as receipts, receivables, and journal entries.
- Maintain funding and accounts receivable logs, resolving invoice and payment issues in coordination with client accounts payable teams.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding checks and reconciling items.
- Reconcile funding against actual expenditures to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and review journal entries with proper documentation, manage accruals, and maintain accrual schedules.
- Develop budgets and forecasts as needed, producing recurring financial reports accompanied by clear narratives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal audit standards and client accounting service reviews.
- Support auditors and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Undertake special projects as assigned by managers or clients.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of overall accounting experience, with at least 2 years in outsourced or client accounting roles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, including bank feeds, rules, classes, projects, advanced reporting, and clean-ups.
- Strong English communication skills for client interactions, emails, and documentation.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles related to accounts payable, payroll, cash management, and reconciliations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Adaptability to hybrid work environments and effective teamwork capabilities.
- Professional discretion in handling confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Professional accounting credentials such as ACCA, ICAEW, CA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with nonprofit organizations is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and a strong grasp of core accounting principles.
- Skilled in spreadsheet and word processing tools, with advanced Excel or Google Sheets knowledge considered an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from 180,000 to 230,000 PKR.
