The company operates with a fully remote, multinational workforce led by an experienced executive team. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, with occasional additional hours as business needs dictate. The Cloud Engineer role is an entry-level position focused on supporting the deployment, operation, and maintenance of WBL’s cloud infrastructure. Under the guidance of the Infrastructure & Security Manager, this role helps ensure environments remain reliable, secure, and cost-effective. Experience with Microsoft Azure and DevOps or Infrastructure-as-Code tools is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Provision and maintain cloud resources following approved configurations and change management procedures. Support virtual machines, storage, networking, identity permissions, and other cloud services that host WBL applications. Monitor system availability, performance, and resource usage, troubleshooting issues and escalating service disruptions when necessary. Maintain backups and assist with restore testing and disaster recovery exercises. Apply approved patches and security settings, collaborating with the Cybersecurity team to address vulnerabilities and access concerns. Automate repeatable tasks using scripts and infrastructure templates, ensuring all changes are documented and tested prior to deployment. Track cloud spending, identify unused or oversized resources, and recommend cost-saving improvements. Maintain infrastructure documentation and operating procedures, coordinating deployments and providing support alongside development and Help Desk teams.
Required Qualifications
Strong spoken and written English skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues and produce accurate documentation. Foundational knowledge of cloud computing concepts, networking, DNS, identity and access management, and basic Windows or Linux administration. Practical exposure to cloud platforms through coursework, labs, personal projects, internships, or employment; prior professional experience is not mandatory. Basic scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or a similar language, along with systematic troubleshooting abilities and adherence to change procedures. Relevant education, technical training, or equivalent demonstrated skills are expected, along with the ability to handle confidential information carefully.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, containers, virtual networks, storage, Azure Monitor, and Microsoft Entra ID. Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Bicep or Terraform, version control systems like Git, and automated deployment workflows. Azure certifications or related training are a plus, as is exposure to application hosting, containerization, or cloud cost management.
Remote Work Requirements
Candidates must be available during U.S. Eastern business hours and possess a reliable internet connection, a dedicated workspace, and the ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with a distributed team.
Key Performance Measures
Success in this role will be measured by the timely resolution and escalation of assigned issues, reliable deployments, successful restore tests, accurate documentation, and the completion of security and cost optimization tasks.
Benefits
Compensation is offered in USD. The benefits package includes paid time off (PTO). This is a fully remote position, providing flexibility to work from any location while collaborating with a global team.
