We are looking for a skilled CNC Programmer & Technical Trainer to join our team. This role involves developing and optimizing CNC programs, setting up and operating CNC machines, and delivering hands-on technical training to students or technical staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive practical experience in CNC programming and machining, combined with strong training and assessment capabilities to help trainees build industry-relevant skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling and turning operations.
- Write and troubleshoot G-Code and M-Code programs to ensure efficient machining processes.
- Set up and operate CNC machines according to technical drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
- Interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T requirements accurately.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, tooling systems, work-holding devices, feeds, and speeds for machining tasks.
- Identify and resolve issues related to CNC programming, machine setup, tooling, and machining operations.
- Conduct both theoretical and practical CNC training sessions, demonstrating machine operation, programming, setup, tool selection, and safety procedures.
- Prepare lesson plans, practical exercises, training materials, and assessments tailored to trainee needs.
- Evaluate trainee performance through practical demonstrations, assignments, and technical assessments.
- Maintain detailed training records, attendance logs, assessment results, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with workshop safety procedures and CNC operating standards at all times.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of technical training programs.
- Stay updated with the latest CNC technologies, manufacturing techniques, and CAD/CAM software advancements.
Required Qualifications
- DAE, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Proven professional experience in CNC programming and machining operations.
- Practical knowledge of CNC milling and/or turning machines.
- Proficiency in writing and troubleshooting G-Code and M-Code, as well as CNC setup, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong communication, presentation, troubleshooting, and technical training skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in CNC milling and turning operations.
- Advanced CNC programming skills with a deep understanding of G-Code and M-Code.
- Experience using CAD/CAM software including Mastercam, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
- Competence in CNC machine setup and operation with a focus on precision and efficiency.
