Community Mobilizer – Peshawar ( UC – Tehkal Payan, Bhana Mari )

Z.M.K. & Co. (ZMK) is seeking motivated and community-oriented individuals for the role of Community Mobilizer in Peshawar, specifically for Union Councils Tehkal Payan and Bhana Mari. This position is part of the Communication Network (COMNet) Programme and offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) and enhance Routine Immunization (RI) efforts. The Community Mobilizer will focus on raising community awareness, fostering trust, and encouraging behavior change through effective engagement with local populations. The role involves close collaboration with community members, influencers, and stakeholders to promote immunization activities, overcome barriers to vaccine acceptance, and support the smooth implementation of program objectives within the designated area.

Key Responsibilities
- Mobilize and engage community members to boost awareness, participation, and confidence in Polio and Routine Immunization programs.
- Plan, organize, and execute community engagement activities such as meetings, door-to-door visits, and outreach events.
- Promote coverage of missed children by raising community awareness and involving local influencers and leaders.
- Regularly profile missed children (including refusals and not available cases) and assist in addressing immunization barriers.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with community influencers, religious and tribal leaders, women and youth leaders, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), health workers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with communities to identify and resolve misconceptions, misinformation, and other challenges impacting vaccine uptake.
- Coordinate with government officials and local stakeholders during demand generation, boycott refusals, and crisis communication efforts.
- Participate in training and capacity-building sessions to enhance community mobilization and communication skills.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of field activities, issues encountered, and any suspected Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) cases identified during visits.
- Support advocacy and community mobilization activities within assigned Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) areas, as applicable.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications
- Male or female candidates must be from the same locality as the area of work, with good knowledge of the local environment, language, religious practices, and cultural norms.
- Minimum education level of Intermediate (FA/FSc or equivalent).
- Proven experience in community development, social work, or involvement with community-based organizations or committees is preferred, especially within immunization or public health programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with diverse community members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good planning and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency in local languages and Urdu.
- Competency in using smartphones for program-related activities and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
Preference will be given to candidates residing within or belonging to the respective Union Council or assigned area.
