Community Mobilizer (Baldia Town, Karachi)

Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) – Autism Centre is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Community Mobilizer to join their team in Baldia Town, Karachi. The role involves engaging with local communities to raise awareness about autism and developmental disabilities, encouraging families to utilize the services provided by the centre, and supporting outreach initiatives. This position requires someone who is proactive in community engagement, capable of building strong relationships with various stakeholders, and passionate about making a positive impact on children and families affected by developmental challenges.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct community outreach activities to increase awareness about autism and developmental disabilities.
- Mobilize families and community members to access the Autism Centre’s services.
- Perform community visits, organize awareness sessions, and facilitate referral processes.
- Establish and maintain coordination with community members, schools, local organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Identify children showing developmental concerns and assist in referring them for appropriate assessment and intervention.
- Support and participate in community-based events, meetings, and awareness campaigns.
- Maintain accurate records of community activities, referrals, and outreach reports for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Health, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience in community mobilization, outreach, or health and development programs is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse community groups.
- Ability to conduct field visits and work directly with communities in various settings.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and basic report writing skills.
