Our client, Central Depository Company of Pakistan, is seeking a Compliance Manager for their Trustee & Custodial Services division based in Karachi. The ideal candidate will lead the compliance function within this segment, ensuring that all trustee operations fully comply with SECP Rules & Regulations, Constitutive Documents, and other relevant legal frameworks governing Asset Management Companies (AMCs). This role demands a highly disciplined and detail-oriented professional who can manage regulatory risks effectively while maintaining robust compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Framework Development: Oversee and continuously enhance the compliance framework for the Trustee business segment, including regular updates to the Compliance Manual and Terms of Reference (TORs).
- Regulatory Monitoring: Conduct thorough monitoring of trustee operations to ensure strict adherence to SECP Rules & Regulations, Constitutive Documents, and other applicable legal requirements for AMCs.
- Risk Identification: Proactively identify and address regulatory gaps and emerging compliance risks within custodial and trustee operations.
- Board Reporting: Prepare and present detailed compliance reports and critical risk assessments to the Board’s Regulatory Affairs Committee, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
- Audit & Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory inspections and internal/external audits related to the trustee segment, facilitating smooth communication and compliance verification.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Qualification: Must be a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Audit, or Regulatory Affairs, preferably within the Financial Services sector.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of SECP regulations, Trust Deeds legalities, and the regulatory environment surrounding Asset Management Companies in Pakistan.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in developing compliance manuals, frameworks, and Terms of Reference (TORs).
- Communication: Excellent reporting and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex regulatory issues to senior stakeholders.
