The Computer Specialist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Karachi. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the firm’s technology infrastructure and end-users. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing cloud-based and on-premise systems, and ensuring the secure and efficient operation of workstations and peripherals. The role involves installing and configuring applications, assisting with data backup and recovery, and liaising with external IT vendors as necessary. Additionally, the specialist will document technical procedures, provide user training on system usage and security, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of IT processes. Collaboration with audit, tax, and advisory teams is essential to ensure technology solutions align with business workflows. A strong command of MS Excel, MS Word, and financial statement formatting is required, alongside expertise in utilizing various AI tools tailored to business needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware and software, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Support cloud-based and on-premise IT systems, including installation and configuration of applications.
- Assist with data backup, recovery procedures, and cybersecurity measures.
- Document technical procedures and develop user guides.
- Provide training and support to staff on basic system usage, digital security, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align IT solutions with business requirements.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors for specialized support or procurement.
- Utilize AI tools effectively to enhance operational efficiency and automation.
- Ensure compliance with IT governance and security policies.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience working within a Chartered Accountancy firm environment.
- Programming skills relevant to automation, scripting, and basic application development.
- Hands-on hardware skills including assembling, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and network devices.
- Ability to train and guide team members on system usage and digital security.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, primarily Windows and preferably Linux.
- Proficiency in office productivity suites and basic networking concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud-based tools, data backup solutions, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with non-technical staff.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent are advantageous.
