COMSATS Internet Services is seeking a dedicated Manager (Hosting) to oversee the company's hosting services infrastructure and operations. This managerial role requires an individual with at least three years of experience and the ability to lead a team of two professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing data center operations, ensuring security compliance, and maintaining optimal performance of hosting environments through effective utilization of virtualization technologies and cloud services management.
This role demands a strong technical background in Linux and Windows operating systems along with proficiency in WHM / cPanel, Plesk Panel, and various server management protocols such as IIS, Apache, and Exim. The Manager will also handle configurations relating to mail servers, FTP, DNS, firewalls, and database systems including MySQL and MS SQL Server. Knowledge of domain registration processes and SSL installation is essential. Preferred candidates will hold Red Hat Linux and Microsoft certifications, demonstrating a high level of expertise and commitment to continuous learning in hosting and data center management.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of hosting services including server management and data center infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Manage and guide a team of two personnel supporting hosting services, fostering technical development and collaboration.
- Administer Linux and Windows servers utilizing WHM / cPanel, Plesk Panel, IIS, Apache, and other relevant control panels and software.
- Configure and maintain mail servers such as Exim, SmarterMail, and MailEnable ensuring reliable email delivery and security.
- Manage FTP services, DNS settings, and firewall configurations to provide secure and efficient hosting environments.
- Handle database management tasks on MySQL and MS SQL Server platforms including performance tuning and security management.
- Email Queues to Prevent Email Traffic Load and Spam.
- Logs for Services on Hosting Servers.
- Restoration of Services in Minimum Possible Time in Case of any Failure.
- Security of Hosting Servers.
- Ensuring Availability on Call in Emergency 24/7.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices across all hosting platforms and data center operations.
- Coordinate domain registration activities and manage SSL certificate installations to support secure and trustworthy online services.
- Implement and monitor virtualization technologies and cloud services management to optimize resource utilization and scalability.
- Use Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools to monitor physical assets, power usage, cooling, and overall data center health.
- Maintain network configuration and management to support seamless communication and connectivity within hosting infrastructure.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to protect hosting environments against potential security vulnerabilities and outages.
- Keep current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements to enhance hosting service quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business needs and align hosting services with organizational goals.
