This full-time position is based at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Lahore, Pakistan. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Consultant Hepatobiliary Surgeon (HPB) to join the Division of Surgical Oncology. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality HPB surgical care, focusing on infectious, benign, and malignant neoplastic conditions affecting the liver, gallbladder, biliary system, and pancreas. This role offers an opportunity to strengthen and expand HPB surgery services within a leading cancer treatment and research facility.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform complex hepatobiliary surgeries, managing a wide range of conditions including infectious diseases, benign tumors, and malignancies of the liver, gallbladder, biliary tract, and pancreas.
- Provide on-call general surgical cover for emergency cases, ensuring timely and effective surgical intervention.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, anesthetists, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver comprehensive cancer care.
- Support and actively participate in established multidisciplinary, site-specific teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Engage in the full general surgical training program and contribute to the education and mentorship of postgraduate fellows specializing in Surgical Oncology.
- Maintain high standards of clinical governance, patient safety, and quality improvement within the surgical department.

Required Qualifications

- Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) with sub-specialization (CCT) in Hepatobiliary Surgery or an equivalent qualification.
- Alternatively, American Board of Surgery certification with sub-specialization in HPB Surgery or an equivalent credential.
- Relevant post-CCT experience in hepatobiliary surgery demonstrating advanced surgical skills and clinical judgment.
- Full registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) is mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities to handle a demanding clinical workload efficiently.
