Consultant, Merchandising

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the entire product development process from inception to shipment, ensuring the right quality, vendor selection, pricing, and on-time delivery.
- Oversee product development activities including costing and price negotiations.
- Conduct regular factory visits to monitor sample submissions, fabric and trim approvals, sewing line planning, and garment delivery schedules.
- Closely supervise the sampling approval process to guarantee timely submissions and proper execution.
- Handle fabric-related submissions such as lab dips, bulk fabric color approvals, and quality checks.
- Monitor Time & Action (T&A) plans to ensure deadlines are met and provide accurate progress reports.
- Collaborate with suppliers and buyers to negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery timelines.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while balancing margin objectives and supporting channel partners.
- Coordinate factory bookings with shipping lines and oversee the handover of goods along with all required shipping documentation post-shipment.
- Work alongside the compliance team to manage factory evaluations, FE renewals, and corrective action plans.
- Support price negotiations with suppliers as directed by senior merchandising leadership.
- Track critical path milestones, anticipate potential delays, and implement corrective measures to ensure on-time delivery.
- Oversee production at assigned factories, maintaining communication with QA and factory management teams to ensure quality standards, inspections, and delivery deadlines are consistently met.

Required Qualifications

- 8 to 10 years of experience in merchandising, preferably within the garment manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes and merchandising, with a particular focus on denim products.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
- Professional qualification in merchandising or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, along with familiarity with Adobe products.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information

- Fluency in English is required.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support factory visits and supplier coordination.
