Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC), Lahore, is inviting applications for a full-time Consultant Urologist position within the Department of Surgical Oncology. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on urologic oncology and will be responsible for providing expert urologic surgical care to cancer patients. This role requires close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, anesthetists, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive cancer management. Additionally, the consultant will support and participate in established site-specific multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the general surgical training program, including the education of postgraduate fellows in surgical oncology.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized urologic surgical expertise with a primary focus on uro-oncology in the management of cancer patients.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated patient care.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary site-specific teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Engage in a full general surgical training program, contributing to the development of junior surgeons and postgraduate fellows.
- Support ongoing clinical and academic activities within the Department of Surgical Oncology.
Required Qualifications
- FRCS with CCST in urologic surgery, or demonstrated satisfactory completion of sub-specialty training in urologic surgery with relevant experience in uro-oncology.
- Alternatively, American Board certification in Urology with experience in uro-oncology will be considered.
- Full registration with the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) is mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle clinical responsibilities efficiently.
