Content Editor

An established Australia-based Salesforce leader with a team of over 50 experts is seeking a highly responsible Editorial Operations Lead to manage day-to-day content activities. This role is pivotal in translating strategic objectives into consistent, high-quality content aligned with business goals. Acting as the operational backbone of the content team, you will work closely with the Content Manager to ensure clarity, smooth execution, and continuous improvement of content initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the smooth execution of the editorial calendar and publishing pipeline, ensuring content aligns with defined KPIs and OKRs.
- Balance content output across funnel stages, target audiences, and business priorities while maintaining consistency in tone, structure, and positioning.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Own the editorial calendar end-to-end, adjusting schedules based on performance insights and coordinating with writers to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Manage and develop writers by reviewing drafts, providing structured editorial feedback, and coaching them to improve clarity, structure, and research depth.
- Identify skill gaps within the writing team and create targeted improvement plans, including training on intent-driven writing and audience understanding.
- Raise quality benchmarks across the team by evaluating writer performance on both quality and strategic thinking.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor content, and market shifts to bring relevant insights into editorial planning.
- Maintain a culture of continuous learning by sharing industry reports, articles, and insights, fostering subject matter expertise and product knowledge within the team.
- Document editorial standards and learnings to ensure consistency and knowledge retention.
- Ensure all content is aligned with audience intent and brand voice, strategically sound, clear, logical, accurate, relevant, and decision-focused.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in content, editorial, or content marketing roles.
- Proven experience managing writers or content contributors.
- Strong editorial judgment with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage content calendars and workflows effectively.
- Experience working towards KPIs and OKRs.
- Solid research and competitor analysis skills.
- Understanding of SEO fundamentals and content strategy.
- Capability to coach and develop writers.
- Highly organized and structured in execution.
- Analytical mindset with a performance-driven approach.
- Strong marketing acumen and understanding of content’s role in growth.
- Knowledge of funnel-based marketing and user journeys.
- Experience creating content that supports acquisition and conversion goals.
