Control and Protection Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Control & Protection Engineer specializing in switchgear and substations to join our team at our facility located 34 KM Ferozpur Road, Lahore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and validating control and protection logic, ensuring the reliable operation of protection systems, and supporting the commissioning and maintenance of electrical substations. This role requires a hands-on professional with a strong background in power system protection, relay configuration, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and validate control and protection logic, interlocking schemes, and automation sequences to ensure system reliability and safety.
- Configure, test, and commission numerical relays, Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), and control panels both at the factory and on-site.
- Lead protection testing, troubleshooting, and reliability checks during installation and commissioning phases.
- Provide technical expertise for retrofitting, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of protection and control systems.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant IEC, IEEE, and NTDC/KE standards.
- Collaborate closely with production, project management, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 4 to 6 years of practical experience in protection and control systems within the power industry, specifically in substations and switchgear environments.
- Strong understanding of power system protection schemes, including overcurrent, distance, differential, transformer, and busbar protection.
- Hands-on experience with numerical relay configuration software such as Siemens DIGSI, ABB PCM600, Schneider Electric tools, and SEL platforms.
- Proficient in relay settings calculations, fault analysis, and protection coordination to optimize system performance.
- Familiarity with SCADA/RTU systems and communication protocols including IEC 61850, Modbus, and DNP3.
