Coordinator, Department of Biological & Biomedical Sciences

Aga Khan University’s Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences, which includes Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, and Pharmacology, is seeking a Coordinator to support its commitment to excellence in teaching and research. The department aims to advance educational and research programs that meet international standards while addressing the healthcare needs of Pakistan. The Coordinator will be instrumental in managing administrative duties, facilitating effective communication, and supporting the department’s academic and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Chair’s daily schedule, coordinate meetings, and ensure agendas and related documents are distributed promptly.
- Draft correspondence such as letters, emails, and memoranda for the Chair’s review and approval; assist with internal and external communications, including updates to the department website.
- Organize departmental meetings by preparing and circulating agendas and minutes, and handle all logistical arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies like the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and the Higher Education Commission concerning the department’s educational responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate records of departmental grants and publications; organize project documentation for audits and reviews; facilitate timely submission of progress reports and grant applications; and assist the Grants Management Unit with administrative tasks.
- Support the University’s Faculty Appointments and Promotions process as required.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in an administrative or coordination role.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively within a team environment.
