Core Network Engineer (Arista)

Systems Limited is seeking a seasoned Core Network Engineer with specialized expertise in Arista technologies, data centre networking, migration, and hybrid cloud connectivity. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructure. This includes ensuring smooth data centre migrations, maintaining network reliability, and optimizing overall network performance to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and manage Arista core network infrastructure, focusing on leaf-spine architecture, MLAG, VXLAN/EVPN, and Layer 2/3 networking protocols.
- Lead comprehensive data centre migration projects, encompassing discovery, dependency mapping, cutover planning, and execution phases.
- Architect and maintain hybrid cloud connectivity solutions using platforms such as Azure ExpressRoute, OCI FastConnect, and Google Cloud Platform Interconnect.
- Configure and optimize critical network protocols and technologies, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, QoS, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Conduct capacity planning, network monitoring, firmware upgrades, and implement security hardening measures to safeguard network integrity.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues to ensure continuous high availability and optimal performance.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, including high-level and low-level designs (HLDs and LLDs), runbooks, and change management records.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in core network engineering, data centre networking, or related infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Arista EOS, CloudVision, and network fabric design and operations.
- Proven track record of leading data centre migrations, including detailed cutover planning and successful execution.
- Deep understanding of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VXLAN/EVPN, MLAG, and hybrid cloud connectivity architectures.
- Advanced network troubleshooting skills, including packet-level analysis.
- Experience working with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds or Zabbix.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Certifications such as Arista ACE-A/P, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, or Microsoft AZ-700 are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage. Additionally, knowledge of network automation using tools like Ansible or programming languages such as Python is a plus, supporting efforts to streamline network operations and improve efficiency.
