Editorial Designer/Magazine Graphic Designer
Our digital agency is looking for an energetic and multi-talented in-house editorial graphic designer for project. The designer will work across both print and digital design with special focus on the former. The key responsibility will be to play an active role in the creative team to produce custom graphical design and layout elements in addition to illustrations, from concept to execution.
Job Responsibilities
ü Handle page design and layouts for the publication/magazine
ü Design custom visuals that quickly and concisely communicate content
ü Incorporate images, create illustrations and develop different themes accordingly.
ü Conceptualize as well as execute the design elements in a way that does not compromise quality
ü Prepare design ideas and print and digital content ideas, in conjunction with other teams
ü Review editorial lineup to ensure editorial design and imagery is aesthetically on-brand, high-quality and meets the needs of each corresponding publication
ü Enhance print assignments by including aspects of animation and video, assigning versions that will work in print and digital, managing data visualization in a way that scales to mobile devices, and having a deep familiarity with sizes, aspect ratios and content requirements for relevant platforms and mediums.
ü Suggest the most relevant proposals, and improvise if required
Core Competencies
ü Experience creating the output of editorial design product (e.g., Magazines, Digital Content, etc.)
ü Real passion for a wide variety of editorial, digital, magazine/publishing and systems design
ü Fluency across graphic design, typography and illustration
ü Clear and concise communication, organization skills and ability to work under pressure
ü Proven command of visual and communication design principles
ü Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement ideas
ü Ability to think in abstract terms; can make connections between unrelated notions; can formulate innovative ideas
ü Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 6, specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator along with Coral Draw.
