Responsibilities
The Medical Billing Executive is responsible for verifying patients’ insurance eligibility and coverage details to facilitate smooth billing operations. This role involves preparing, submitting, and carefully monitoring insurance claims while maintaining compliance with industry coding standards such as ICD and CPT. The executive diligently follows up on denied or unpaid claims to ensure timely resolution and receipt of payments. Regular collaboration with internal departments is necessary to address and resolve any discrepancies in billing, enabling accurate financial reporting. The position also includes generating and analyzing detailed financial reports related to billing and claims, helping the organization to track performance and optimize revenue cycles. Maintaining organizational skills and managing workload efficiently to meet crucial deadlines are fundamental aspects of this role.
Additional responsibilities include adapting to coding updates and regulatory changes in medical billing, maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations, and continuously improving billing procedures to increase accuracy and reduce claim rejections. The candidate is expected to communicate clearly and effectively with insurance providers, patients, and team members to support smooth claim processing and enhance overall service delivery.
