Cyber Security Officer

Matacs Technologies Inc., based in Karachi, Pakistan, is seeking a dedicated Cyber Security Officer to join their team on a full-time, on-site basis. The Cyber Security Officer will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the security posture of the company’s systems, networks, applications, and data.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor systems, networks, and applications to detect security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies and security controls across the organization.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and perform security risk reviews regularly.
- Manage access controls, firewalls, endpoint security, and user permissions effectively.
- Identify, investigate, and respond promptly to security incidents.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including security policies, procedures, reports, and incident records.
- Support both internal and external security audits to ensure compliance.
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing compliance of ISO 27001 standards.
- Collaborate with development and technical teams to enhance application and infrastructure security.
- Review existing security controls and recommend improvements to strengthen defenses.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices among employees.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information Security, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in Cyber Security, Information Security, or Network Security roles.
- Strong knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, endpoint security, access controls, and vulnerability management.
- Proven experience in incident response and security monitoring.
- Familiarity with information security policies, risk assessments, and conducting security audits.
- Understanding of ISO 27001 requirements and associated security controls.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Mandatory Certification
Candidates must hold at least one relevant cybersecurity certification, with preference given to:
- Cisco Cybersecurity or Cisco Security Certification
- CCNP Security
- ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer
- ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor
- Other equivalent recognized cybersecurity certifications
